Mine de Tortue
Hi, I'm Pau - the hands and heart behind Mine de Tortue. A visual artist based in Voorburg, the Netherlands.
My art doesn't fit into one box. Like me. I don't stick to one style or one medium because my brain doesn't work in straight lines. Some days I want bold colours, some days I want simple sketches. And some days I just make something because it keeps me sane.
For me, creating isn't about having a signature style. It's about having an outlet. A way to deal with the noise in my head and the chaos of everyday life with two small kids. So I experiment a lot. From paintings to upcycle projects and poster prints to murals. But there's one common thing: I always seem to come back to bright bold colours.
Mine de Tortue is basically me figuring life out with a brush or pencil in my hand. Nothing fancy, nothing perfect.

The name
Mine de Tortue
With a French husband and two daughters who are already speaking the language more fluently than I do, I just had to add a French touch. And the funny thing is - though some people find it a bit annoying I found out - is that it doesn't really mean anything :). It just stuck!
