Travel has always been one of my biggest sources of inspiration. I like to go back there in my mind as often as possible. Next to the big photo wall in our living room, I like to paint from memory to revisit that feeling of being away.
I made this painting after traveling to Vietnam in 2013. It was my first solo trip. The quiet and the liveliness at the same time. Asia always gives me a deep sense of calm, even though it can be incredibly chaotic too. And somehow, that contrast has always stayed with me.

All original paintings are created by me - Paulien Stélian, the artist behind Mine de Tortue.
I use mostly acrylic paints, together with medium gels, texture pastes and other materials that I can get my hand on.

Framing
Framing
The original paintings come without framing. I always paint the sides as well, so you can hang the painting unframed beautifully.
You can of course always frame it yourself at a local framing shop.

All original paintings are shipped from my studio in Voorburg, the Netherlands.
Free shipping, delivery takes between 5-8 business days.
When your artwork is shipped, you’ll receive an email with a tracking link that is linked to the carriers website. That way you can follow the status of your shipment.
